Our Story

In 2005, my husband and I packed up our life in Amsterdam and moved to Auckland with our two kids — bringing our love for Dutch food with us. A year later, my parents Willem and Heidi Van Der Velde turned that same passion into something special, opening their Dutch restaurant in Birkenhead. For nearly two decades, it was a little piece of the Netherlands right here in New Zealand.

When the restaurant was sold in 2023, the food lived on. The homemade frozen snacks customers had always loved kept going, now delivered straight to doors across New Zealand.

Now in 2026, I've taken the reins. I'm Maureen, and carrying on what my parents built is something I'm incredibly proud of. Same traditional flavours, same family heart — just a fresh new look for a new chapter.
